Jacob and Spike went to our wards scout camp out for three days on the Big Horns. Jacob got to have his first experience rappelling down a cliff. He was a little nervous but got the job done. It was a fifty foot drop and Spike was at the bottom making sure he wasn't going to fall. This was up at the Jaws and they camped at Bucking Mule trail head.
Scouting is turning out to be a great experience for Jacob. He turns twelve in October and he is already a first class scout and has two required merit badges under his belt. He is in the process of getting Family Life and Dog Care merit badges. Hopefully he will be able to get his eagle finished while he is in middle school so his time in high school won't be so crazy. Hmmm. Maybe we have learned a thing or two by the time the last child goes through scouting.
