Eve is Three!

Happy birthday to our sweet Eve! She was almost born on grandpa Spike's birthday. It is fun to have their birthdays so close together.

Weekend Fun!

We had the most fun weekend!  Jacob was going to receive the Aaronic Priesthood and be ordained to the office of a deacon on Sunday so Mark, Rachael, Eli & Eve, Lucas, Shanae & Connor came home from Laramie to be here for him.  How sweet.  He loved having so many of us home especially since it has been getting pretty quiet at our house lately.
Here is Eve explaining something to us.  We were not sure what but she looked like she knew everything about it.  Connor and Jacob are having some fun and not listening to her one bit. ;)
Eve finally discovered who was bumping her from underneath the tramp.  We had a fun time in the back yard.  The day was just beautiful.
Grandma Flash and Bob came over for a quick visit.
More pictures of Eve and Connor.
Marcy came home with Lucas and Shanae.  She is a beautiful dog.  She and Molly played all weekend.  Molly was exhausted by the time they left.
Here we are getting ready to play SCUM.  I was mostly on the scum side of the table all evening long.
Sunday morning came and we found Mark trying to fit into a kitchen cupboard.  Odd. I had cleaned out that cupboard because what little kid doesn't need a cave to climb into.  Eve and Connor enjoyed it and I guess Mark thought he should too.  We couldn't quite get the door shut.
So, of course, Lucas had to try.  His legs were too long.  Too bad.
Jacob had no problem getting in.
 Eve decided to join him.
Ah.  Mark had some new strategy for climbing in.  Head first.  We were able to shut the door on him this time.
 Climbing out :)
Connor wasn't very thrilled about getting inside.
Thanks for coming home everyone.  We were missing Jared but Albuquerque is a long ways away.

Middle School!

Since I am such a slacker I got Jacob's first day of school picture after school!  He had a great day on his first day of sixth grade.  Everything went smoothly and he is ready for the year.  What a handsome kiddo!

In other kiddo news....
Jared is at the University of New Mexico in the Phd. program in economics.  He is doing well and we hope to see  him sometime during the holidays. (I'll be sending a plane ticket if I have to)

Lucas and Shanae are at the University of Wyoming.  Lucas changed his major to business and just got  a new job in the computer lab.  They have one little boy, Connor, and one on the way due to arrive in March.

Rachael and Eli are both finishing up their degrees this semester at the University of Wyoming.  Rachael's is in Communication and Eli is getting his in Computer Science and Accounting.  It looks like they will stay in Laramie for a while since Eli has a nice job all ready. They have one little girl, Eve.

Mark is starting his college career also at the University of Wyoming.  He was wondering if he would be homesick.  Actually, I think I will be with most of my family in Laramie.  He is studying engineering and leaning towards something in the energy field right now.  He will go to school for at least two semesters and then leave for a mission.

Life is good. I just realized that this is the first year in 22 years that I don't have a child in elementary school.  I guess it is time to grow up.  Rats.

4 Generation Photo with Grandma Grant

Michael, Eve, Marie and Rachael.  I love this picture you can see the family resemblance through all the generations.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Eve Marie Cox

We had a busy weekend. Here are some pictures of Eve. We are glad that both mother and baby are fine. Rachael's ward in Laramie is simply fantastic! She has the best visiting teacher, Debbie Hoopes. Debbie checks on her often and has brought in at least two meals so far. I feel so much better about leaving since I know that she will be well taken care of. My sister Gwen is also there and does such a great job of checking on my children and now grandchild.

I am glad to be home though. Jacob must have grown two inches since I left and that was only for five days! He was surprised at Cub Scouts when he saw me and he gave me a huge hug. My hugest hug came from Sparky. He picked me up off the floor and hugged so hard my back cracked. It felt really good. I missed a few wrestling matches while I was gone. They almost beat Greybull in their dual last Friday and then they wrestled in Wright. Mark won all of his matches with pins in the first period. Then they hosted Cody for parents night on Tuesday. Sparky again beat his opponent in a pin.

New Baby

This is Eve Marie Cox. Rachael finally had her beautiful baby girl. Rach did such a good job. She was rather tired after having reached her third day of labor before they broke her water. An hour later Baby Eve was born.
Both mother and baby are fine.
It was a long night before the baby was finally born and you can tell. We were all pretty tired by the time our precious package arrived.

Rachael at 35 Weeks

Rachael just sent me this picture. So cute! We are patiently awaiting the arrival of our first grandchild. She is due January 1st but I am thinking it will be earlier maybe just because I never did get to my due date with any of mine. She will probably have a Christmas baby. What do you think? Since we don't know if it is a boy or a girl I haven't stockpiled up baby stuff yet. It's a good thing that there is a Walmart or two between here and Laramie when I get the call to come on down. I think it will be a very bouncy baby boy but I have been wrong before.

Rachael's Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my dear daughter Rachael! She is the most wonderful daughter in the world! I thought you would like to see her through the years. The top picture is all the cousins on the day of her blessing. Matthew is being the responsible one holding her. Brian, Chris and Lucas are on the top row. Kyle, Matthew (holding Rachael) and Jared on the 2nd row. Paige is below that. Betsy holding Bailey and then Lane. What FUN!

Her first birthday! She will always be my little 'Fat Rabbit'. She was such a snugly little baby and just melted into your arms.

Sleeping Outside!

Rachael and Eli came home for a quick visit Thursday evening and left Friday morning. We had lots of fun with them and tried to entertain them. Jacob came up with the great idea of sleeping outside on the trampoline. All of us?!? Yep!
What good sports Rachael and Eli are! We were a little afraid that with Eli, Rachael, Mark, Me, Jacob and Duchess all on the trampoline at once it might break. I am glad we were wrong. Whew! Molly had to spend the night in the house because she wouldn't stay on the tramp.

After we were all snuggled in we watched Monty Python on a laptop. I think eveyone was asleep before it was over. The French knights were taunting King Arthur when I zonked out.
In the morning after breakfast Mark, Eli and Jacob played a rousing game of Bocci ball. Jacob has officially grown up and no longer gets a handicap! It looks like they were having lots of fun.
