Great Night for BB

I got to go see Jacob in action last night at the Cowley Gym.  He is playing some little league basketball and I missed all last weeks games because I was in Laramie. He told me he was doing well and last night I saw that he wasn't lying one bit. He made 12 of his teams 27 points last night.  The other team was 14.  Jacob is taller than the other boys and has long arms so is able to block lots of shots and get lots of rebounds.  He needs to work on getting better position under the basket and boxing out but ...Hey, he did a great job and had lots of fun.  His team works well together and they all like each other.  None of his 'best' friends are on his team and that is probably a good thing. He needs to branch out a little in the social department.

Dylan Hultgren and Craig Lundberg are coaching the team and they are just doing a great job.  Dylan is so fun to watch as he coaches these kiddos. He really loves basketball and loves teaching the skills.

Little League Basketball

 Jacob's team played hard this year!  I think they learned  lots and had tons of fun.  In the picture are Kane, Brandon, Tanner, and Jacob on the back row. Mat, Ethan, Brendon and Alex on the front row.

 This is just after their last game.  They got to play full court on the high school gym.  Those were a bunch of super tired boys by the time they were done.

Little League Basketball

In this picture:  Jacob, Damon Watts, Carter, Zane Hitz and Mat Savage.  We also had Daniel Luna and a Chris Lopez who left before I could get a picture.

Jacob really progressed a lot in Basketball this year.  He became the most awesome rebounder!  He got much more aggressive when it came to stealing balls and playing some great defense.  Jacob was good at putting the ball back up on an offensive rebound.  Thanks to Coach Savage for helping Jacob learn the game.  He had a great time this year especially since he got to play with his best friend Mat.

 And he shoots for two!  And he scores!

He was very good at getting good position and getting the rebound.  It didn't hurt that he was taller than most of the boys and that he has long arms.  One thing that is nice about Jacob is that he has 'sticky' fingers.  He can catch the ball and hold on to it.  It was fun to watch all the games and see Jacob learning and growing.  All the boys did a great job.  They were a fun bunch of kids to watch.
