Sports Obsession?

I was just looking over my blog and lately readers might possibly think that I have a sports obsession, a football obsession especially. Not really. There are lots of things that are important in our lives here in Lovell. It's just that they might not be as exciting. I thought about how we are reading scriptures every morning and having family prayer and planning our family home evening. Those things are way more important than sports and football but they are generally not as exciting.

Here is a funny thing that happened in Sacrament meeting the other day. Again, Sacrament meeting is a sacred meeting but sometimes we get a bit distracted. Some background information is needed before I get started. Jacob does not like babies. They spit and drool and puke and poop and all sort of nasty things. We have bugged him by asking him if we should have another baby and he became horrified at the thought. He told me last year that maybe we could adopt a brother that is 5 then we could miss all the baby grossness. Okay, so, we are in Sacrament meeting and our good friend Malia McClure is directly in front of Jacob. Her two month old son is feeling a little pukey that day. He spits up on her shoulder and Jacob made this gross face. Then about 3 minutes later he spits up again and it goes down the back of the bench and almost lands on Jacob's shoes. Jacob is really grossed out and we clean up the mess. Then she puts him on her shoulder and he projectile vomits right onto Jacob's lap. He just about threw up. Spike and I are laughing so hard that I think the bench was shaking. Tears were streaming down my face. The McArthur girls behind us started laughing and so did a sister that I go visiting teaching to. This couldn't have happened to a better person. I got a baby wipe from the row in front and cleaned things up. Luckily for Jacob he had the program on his lap so most of it missed him. This story might not be as exciting as football but it is pretty close.

Speaking of football though, I got this from wyo preps. It is the run down on what is going on in our side of the state in 2A. Things are getting pretty darn exciting!

If Lyman wins at Greybull, the Eagles get top seed in the west. If Greybull wins AND Lovell loses to Big Piney, the Buffalos get the top seed. If Greybull AND Lovell win, this creates a 3-way. Lovell wins due to better overall record.

The potential exists for a 3-way for the 4 seed in the west with Big Piney, Pinedale and Mountain View. It will happen if Big Piney loses at Lovell, Pinedale beats Wyoming Indian and MV beats Kemmerer. The 3 teams all beat each other. BP wins overall record tie-breaker.

Mountain View can swipe the 4-seed from BP, IF and only IF, the Buffs win vs. Kemmerer AND Big Piney loses to Lovell, AND Pinedale loses to Wyoming Indian.

Lyman: Conference champion with a win. No. 2 seed with a loss and a Lovell loss. No. 3 seed with a loss and a Lovell win.
Greybull: Conference champion with a win AND a Lovell loss. No. 2 seed with a win and a Lovell win. No. 3 seed with a loss, no matter what Lovell does. Lovell: Conference champion with a win AND a Lyman loss. No. 2 seed with a Lyman win, win or lose. No. 3 seed with a Loss AND a Lyman loss.
Big Piney: Are the No. 4 seed with a win. Are the No. 4 seed with a loss AND a Mountain View loss. Are the No. 4 seed with a loss AND a Mountain View win AND a Pinedale win. Are eliminated with a loss AND a Mountain View win AND a Pinedale loss.
Mountain View: Qualify if and only if they win AND Big Piney loses AND Pinedale loses.
Pinedale, Kemmerer, Wyoming Indian: Eliminated.
