The Lovell Bulldogs posted yet another victory for their final game of the regular season. The Bulldogs go into playoffs as the #1 seed in the 2A west conference. As for the conference record, Lovell, Greybull and Lyman all tied with a 6 wins and 1 loss. But Lyman had more losses for non conference games and that put Lovell and Greybull for a tie. Since Lovell beat Greybull head to head that puts Lovell in the #1 position all alone. This picture is of Big Piney trying to run the ball up the middle and is tackled by a 'pack of dogs'.
The Lovell defense held strong after Big Piney's initial attack. Big Piney scored in the first quarter. I think it was in the second quarter that AJ Montanez sacked the quarterback and stripped the ball away. Mark came in, scooped up the fumble and rumbled into the end zone for a Bulldog Touchdown. Also in the second quarter our offense came alive with some quick short passes, some fine running by Dino and Billy and ended the drive with a pass to Cody Savage for another touchdown. No one scored in the second half. Big Piney did their best on offense but our defense held strong. Spike told me about this cool play on offense. Mark is on the offensive line on the outside. Big Piney put a corner blitz on our quarter back. Mark saw it coming and shoved his guy into the corner which opened up a great slot for Dino to run through. He gained fifteen yards on the play.

Today Mark was supposed to go to an ACT test in Powell but woke up all pukey and feeling nasty, so he is asleep on the couch with a bucket close by. I hate when that happens.
Mark is running down this Big Piney guy and gets in on the tackle just a split second later. Collin McArthur is our safety and he does a bang up job of not letting anyone get past him.
Just as a side note, Mark came home with a bloody white under armour shirt. It wasn't his blood but I thought we should get it out. This is on Saturday morning and although his shirt was still damp from the sweat when I dug it out of his bag I thought the blood would leave a stain. I put some hydrogen peroxide on it and it bubbled up and the the stain was gone. Amazing.
