Duchess

Spike, Megan, Jared, Lucas, Eli, Mark and Jacob took our two dogs, Molly and Duchess out hunting. Duchess is our older beagle. Her life is usually pretty sedentary. She doesn't like to get cold or move around very much....but when she goes hunting....WOW! She perked right up and became super dog! She had so much fun. This really needs to happen more often.

Thanksgiving

We have so very much to be thankful for this year. We are all healthy and happy. Our family is supportive and loving. We had everyone home for Thanksgiving this year. For Thanksgiving dinner we had all of our family and Kyle and Malia and their girls. They added so much fun to our family. Their girls love our four dogs very much but especially Mayzie, Megan's dog. Our team took third in the Thanksgiving volleyball tournament. I think we could have taken it if we would have practiced at all before the tournament. Megan is such a sweetheart. She is amazingly awesome and talented...and very, very patient. Our family photoshoot ended up being a cockleburr war. Thanks, Megan, for loving us all anyway. What very nice pictures you took!

Jewel of the Nile

I had lots of fun yesterday. Spike and I painted the kitchen and dining room. It is pretty much a dark sage green. I think these new colors are growing on Mark. Now we are having a lively discussion on what color to paint the front hallway. What do you think? I say go with the gold buff but Spike wants to do a dark red up one wall and then something else on the other walls. That makes me a little nervous.

Honor Society

Mark, Erin and Susie all got inducted into National Honor Society last night. It was a really nice ceremony.

Gold!

I painted the living room two shades of gold. I love it! Spike loves it! Mark does not :( . Now I have a front hallway filled with things that I do not want to have back in the room. They are Spikes. Hmm. How long will they stay there before I find a new place to stash them?

Crouton

I painted my bedroom crouton. I have eggshell white in all the rooms in my whole house. My sister Karen and I tackled the project on Friday afternoon, just as soon as Spike left town to go to a football game. By the time he got back, the job was done and the room looked cool. Admittedly, I had a few heart palpitations when I first started painting. It looked really dark at first but it lightened up after all the white was gone.

Sick Jacob

Jacob has the flu today. Not the Swine flu. Just one that the elementary school has been going through. Throw up and diarrhea for 24 hours. He puked when he got to school this morning. Rats.
